Bank Marketing Agency for Community Banks

We are a bank marketing agency for community banks and credit unions that want to grow deposits, loans and new households. You compete with national banks, online banks and fintech apps that spend far more on ads. Your edge is local service and trust. We build campaigns that show it, inside the rules that govern every rate, offer and ad.

Key takeaways

  • Campaigns are planned by product line, from CDs and checking to home equity and mortgage.
  • Deposit ads state rates as an annual percentage yield, and credit ads add the disclosures that trigger terms require.
  • Ad pixels stay off online banking and logged-in pages, and list uploads are reviewed under your privacy notice.

What a Community Bank or Credit Union Needs From Marketing

Bank marketing has a few steady goals. You want low-cost core deposits, primary checking relationships with direct deposit, and loan growth in the products you want to book. Rate cycles change the mix. When rates rise, CD and money market campaigns matter more. When they fall, lending and home equity come forward.

Credit unions add their own twist. Membership depends on your field of membership, so messages have to explain who can join and why it is worth it. Banks focused on business customers need treasury services and small business accounts in the plan.

Younger customers often open accounts on a phone without ever visiting a branch. Older customers still value the branch. A good plan serves both without confusing either.

02

Bank Digital Marketing by Product Line

We plan campaigns by product, since each one has its own buyer and its own rules.

  • Deposits and CDs

Search and social ads for rate shoppers, with landing pages that show the APY, terms and requirements clearly.

  • Checking and New Households

Campaigns for movers, new businesses and people switching banks, with simple online account opening.

  • Consumer and Home Equity Lending

Ads for auto loans, HELOCs and personal loans, built to meet credit ad targeting limits on Google and Meta.

  • Branch and Local Search

A complete Google Business Profile for every branch and ATM location, with correct hours, services and holiday closures.

  • Onboarding and Cross-Sell Email

Welcome flows that help new customers set up direct deposit, bill pay and the app, then introduce other products.

  • Mortgage

Purchase and refinance campaigns with fair housing and lending disclosures in place.

Rules Every Bank Ad Has to Meet

Bank ads face more rules than most. Banks generally must include the FDIC official advertising statement, such as Member FDIC, with some exceptions. Federally insured credit unions use the NCUA insurance statement. If you advertise a deposit rate, Regulation DD requires it to be stated as an annual percentage yield, with added disclosures such as minimum balance and fees.

Credit ads fall under Regulation Z. Certain trigger terms, such as a payment amount or down payment, require more disclosures, including the APR. Mortgage and home equity ads need the Equal Housing Lender notice where it applies. All ads must avoid unfair, deceptive or abusive practices.

Ad platforms add their own limits. Google restricts personalized targeting for credit ads in the US, including by age, gender and ZIP code. Meta requires a special ad category for credit offers such as loans and cards, with similar limits. Your compliance officer approves every ad, and we keep a dated log for exams.

04

Customer Data, Tracking and Privacy

Banks hold sensitive data, and marketing tools can expose it if they are set up carelessly. We keep ad pixels off online banking and logged-in pages, and we review what each tag collects on application pages.

Uploading customer lists to ad platforms, for example to exclude current customers, needs care under your privacy notice and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. We review those uses with your compliance officer before any list leaves your systems. Our marketing analytics service can set up server-side tracking that limits what third parties see.

05

How We Work With Bank and Credit Union Teams

Step 1: We meet with marketing, product and compliance to agree on goals, products and review steps. Step 2: We audit your site, branch listings, ad accounts and tracking. Step 3: We build campaigns by product and submit copy for compliance review. Step 4: We launch and report monthly on applications, funded accounts, balances and cost per funded account, using data from your core or account opening system.

Compliance review adds time, so we build it into the schedule rather than rushing it. Rate changes can happen quickly. We prepare ad and page templates so new rates can be approved and published fast.

06

Bank Marketing Services Pricing and Limits

Programs start at $1,000 a month, with ad spend billed separately. Cost depends on the number of products, branches and channels, and on how much creative needs compliance review.

As a bank digital marketing agency, we will not promise deposit growth, a set cost per account or a rate advantage. Your rates and service decide much of that. We will show which campaigns brought funded accounts. For insurers, lenders and other finance firms, see our financial services marketing page. This work is part of our full digital marketing agency services.

FAQ

Bank Marketing Questions, Answered

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Ask us anything else on the free audit call.

The channels are similar, but the message differs. Credit unions need to explain who can join and the value of membership. Banks often lead with products, rates and business services.

Usually not on rate alone. Local service, a real person to call, business banking relationships and branch access all matter. We test rate offers against relationship messages to see what brings funded accounts.

It depends on your reviewers, but plan for at least one review round per campaign. Templates and pre-approved language speed things up. We track review time so delays show up early.

Yes. We set up the branch listing before opening, run local ads in the surrounding area and plan opening offers. Offers still go through compliance review.

A named reviewer, your internal ad policies and an agreed turnaround time. We send each ad with its landing page and disclosures, and we keep a record of every approved version.
