Key takeaways

  • Deposit ads that state a rate show it as an annual percentage yield, and loan ads that state a payment carry the APR.
  • Ads for credit products are planned within Meta and Google limits on age, gender and ZIP code targeting.
  • A library of approved disclosures and claims speeds up later campaigns, while your compliance staff keep the final say.
01

Who We Work With in Financial Services

Financial services marketing covers a wide range of firms. We work with community banks, credit unions, lenders, fintech companies, and insurance and wealth firms. Each has its own regulators, products and buyers.

What they share is a trust problem. People choose a bank or lender on rates, convenience, apps and reputation, and switching feels like a hassle. Your marketing has to give a clear reason to move, then make opening an account or applying simple.

For work focused on community banks and credit unions, see our bank marketing page.

02

Disclosures Every Bank Ad Needs to Get Right

FDIC-insured banks must include the official advertising statement, such as Member FDIC, in most ads, with some exceptions. Credit unions use the NCUA's official statement. Deposit ads that state a rate must show it as an annual percentage yield under the Truth in Savings Act and Regulation DD, along with certain terms.

Loan ads have their own triggers. Under Regulation Z, stating a payment, down payment or finance charge requires more disclosures, including the APR. Mortgage ads from lenders usually carry Equal Housing Lender wording or the logo.

Platforms add targeting limits. Meta and Google restrict how ads for credit products can be targeted in the US, including limits on age, gender and ZIP code. We plan audiences that work inside those limits.

Financial Services Digital Marketing Beyond Ads

Ads bring people in. These pieces help them open an account and stay.

  • Search and Content

Rate pages, product pages and guides that answer real questions. See our financial services content writing page.

  • Email and Onboarding

Welcome series and cross-sell emails that help new customers use their accounts. See our financial services email marketing page.

  • Local Search

Branch listings with correct hours, services and ATM details for each location.

  • Reviews

Review programs for branches and lenders, with replies that never reveal account details.

  • Analytics

Tracking from ad click to funded account, built with your privacy and security teams. See our marketing analytics service.

Working Inside Your Compliance Process

Every financial firm has its own review process. Federal law bans unfair, deceptive or abusive practices in consumer finance, enforced by the CFPB and bank regulators. Broker-dealers follow FINRA Rule 2210 for communications with the public. Investment advisers follow the SEC Marketing Rule.

We build review time into every campaign. We keep a library of approved disclosures and claims, which speeds up later campaigns. Rules for financial services in marketing change over time, so your compliance staff has the final say on every piece. We are not your compliance officer.

05

Finance for Marketing: Budgets, Costs and Reporting

We help you plan finance for marketing the way a CFO would. That means cost per funded account, cost per loan and the lifetime value of each customer. Clicks and impressions do not answer those questions.

Programs start at $1,000 a month, and any setup is quoted up front. Media is billed separately. Cost depends on how many products and markets you promote, how much creative you need and how many review rounds each piece goes through. We will not promise deposit growth or loan volume. We will report results in the terms your finance staff use. See all our digital marketing agency services.

FAQ

Financial Services Marketing Questions, Answered

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Ask us anything else on the free audit call.

Finance marketing promotes banking, lending, investing and insurance products. It differs because of strict disclosure rules, fair lending laws and long review cycles. Trust and clarity matter more than clever copy.

Ads for credit products face targeting limits on Meta and Google in the US. Deposit and brand ads have more options, but fair lending risk still applies. We review targeting with your compliance staff.

Yes. Fintechs that offer products through a bank often need the bank's approval on ads. FDIC rules bar misrepresenting deposit insurance, so we take care with that wording.

It depends on your review process and the number of products. A new campaign with new claims takes longest. Reusing approved disclosures and templates shortens later rounds.
