Therapist Website Design

Our therapist web design work helps counselors, psychologists and group practices build sites that feel calm and make the first step easy. Someone looking for therapy is often reading your site late at night, unsure whether to reach out at all. Your site should tell them, in plain words, who you help, how you work, what it costs and how to book a first call.

  • Free 30-minute growth audit, no obligation
  • Website builds from $1,000, quoted in writing

Key takeaways

  • The general contact form asks only for a name, a contact method and a short optional message, never clinical details.
  • Ad pixels and session recording tools stay off booking and intake pages.
  • A crisis note makes clear you are not an emergency service and points people to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

What a Potential Client Checks Before Contacting You

Most people looking for a therapist are deciding on fit. They want to know if you work with their concern, such as anxiety, trauma, couples conflict or grief. They want to know if you take their insurance or offer a superbill, whether you see clients in person or by video, and whether you have openings.

They also want a sense of you as a person. A clear photo and a short, warm description of how a session feels often matters more than a list of credentials. Many people find you first on Psychology Today or an insurance directory, then visit your site to decide.

We design the site to answer those questions in the order people ask them, with no clinical jargon.

02

Pages We Build for a Therapy Practice

Small practices often need only a handful of pages. Group practices need more structure.

  • Approach and About

Who you are, the methods you use, such as CBT, EMDR or IFS, and what a first session looks like.

  • Specialty Pages

A page for each concern you focus on, written for the person living with it, not for a peer reviewer. Our therapist content writing service can write these pages.

  • Fees and Insurance

Session rates, the plans you are in network with, sliding scale details and how superbills work.

  • Telehealth Details

The states where you are licensed to see clients by video and what clients need for a session.

  • Clinician Directory

For group practices, filterable profiles by specialty, availability and location.

  • Crisis Note

A short note that you are not an emergency service, with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

03

Privacy, Intake Forms and Required Notices

A general contact form should not ask for clinical details. We keep it to name, contact method and a short optional message, and we say so on the form. Intake paperwork belongs in your EHR client portal, such as SimplePractice or TherapyNotes, or in a form tool that will sign a business associate agreement under HIPAA.

We keep ad pixels and session recording tools off booking and intake pages. If you see self-pay clients, we add the Good Faith Estimate notice that the No Surprises Act calls for. Your licensing board may also have rules on how you describe credentials and specialties, so you approve every page before launch.

Working With a Therapist Website Designer

Step 1: A short call about your practice, the clients you want to see more of and where referrals come from now. Step 2: We draft a page list and a sample page, in your voice, for your feedback.

Step 3: We design and build the site, connect your booking or consultation link, and test it on phones. Step 4: We launch, set up your Google Business Profile link and show you how to update your availability and fees.

Many solo practices prefer a simple builder they can edit themselves. We work on WordPress and on hosted tools through our Squarespace and Wix design service.

Therapist Website Design Pricing

A solo practice site is a website build, and website builds start at $1,000. Group practice sites with clinician profiles and filters are quoted up front after the free growth audit. Cost depends on page count, copywriting and how your booking connects. We cannot promise a full caseload or a set number of inquiries. Referrals depend on your directories, your network and your availability too.

For our full range of builds, see our web design services. For promotion beyond your website, see our therapist marketing services.

FAQ

Therapist Web Design Questions, Answered

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Ask us anything else on the free audit call.

A directory profile helps people find you. Your own site gives you room to explain your approach, fees and specialties in more depth, and many clients check it before booking. The two work well together.

Yes. We can embed your EHR's booking tool or a scheduling link for short consultation calls. We keep the form short and avoid asking for clinical details up front.

For many solo practices, yes. They are easy to update and affordable. A larger group practice with many clinicians may be better served by WordPress or another flexible CMS.

We can write it from an interview with you, or edit what you already have. You review each page so it sounds like you and fits your licensing board's rules.

A small site can move quickly once your photos and details are ready. Group practice sites take longer because of clinician profiles and reviews. We set a timeline in writing before we start.
