Financial Advisor Facebook Ads

We run financial advisor Facebook ads for RIAs, independent advisors, and planning firms that need new prospects and a clean compliance trail. Advisors face two sets of rules on Meta: the platform's own limits on financial ads and the regulations that govern your firm. We plan campaigns around both from the start. That way your ads have a better chance of approval and your compliance team is not surprised.

Key takeaways

  • Without age targeting, ads about retirement income or Social Security timing draw in pre-retirees through the message itself.
  • Education leads the offer, with webinars and guides first and a discovery call invitation saved for retargeting.
  • Final versions of every ad, landing page and lead form go to your files for archiving under your record keeping rules.
01

Meta's Special Ad Category for Financial Services

Meta places ads for financial products and services in a special ad category. This includes investment, insurance, and credit offers. Ads in this category must be declared, and they come with targeting limits. Insurance agencies and mortgage lenders face similar limits, covered on our insurance social media ads and mortgage social media ads pages.

You cannot target by age, gender, or ZIP code. Location targets need at least a 15-mile radius. Many detailed targeting options are removed, and lookalike audiences are not available. For advisors who serve pre-retirees, losing age targeting is a real change.

We work around it with creative. An ad that speaks clearly about retirement income, Social Security timing, or selling a business draws in the right people on its own. Lead form questions then confirm fit, such as investable assets range and timeline.

02

Regulatory Review and Record Keeping

Your firm's rules apply to every ad. Registered investment advisers follow the SEC Marketing Rule. Registered representatives follow FINRA rules on communications with the public, including principal approval for retail communications. State-registered advisers follow their state regulator. Accounting firms have their own rules, covered on our accountant social media ads page.

In practice, this means no promises of returns, no cherry-picked performance, and balanced statements of risk. Testimonials and endorsements are allowed under the SEC Marketing Rule only with required disclosures and oversight. We draft copy in plain, factual language and send everything through your compliance process before it runs.

We also plan for archiving. Ads, landing pages, and lead form text should be kept with your records. Many firms use an archiving tool for social media. We provide final versions of every asset for your files.

03

Offers That Bring in Qualified Prospects

A cold "book a meeting" ad rarely works for wealth management. Trust has to come first. We usually lead with education.

  • Webinars and Seminars

Online or local events on retirement planning, Social Security, or tax-aware withdrawal strategies.

  • Guides and Checklists

Downloadable resources tied to a life event, such as retirement, inheritance, or a business sale.

  • Advisor Video

Short clips of you explaining a common planning question in plain words, recorded on your phone and edited by us.

  • Retargeting to a Meeting

Follow-up ads for people who attended, downloaded, or watched, inviting them to a discovery call.

How a Campaign Runs

Step 1: We define your ideal client, minimums, and service area, and learn your compliance workflow. Step 2: We draft ads, landing pages, and forms, then send them for review.

Step 3: After approval, we launch with one or two offers and track cost per lead and cost per booked meeting. Step 4: We review lead quality with you each month. If leads fall below your minimums, we change offers and qualifying questions.

We send leads into your CRM, such as Redtail or Wealthbox, where possible. Our Facebook and Meta ads page explains the account side in more detail.

05

Pricing and Limits

Management starts at $1,000 a month. We edit video ads from clips you record on your phone, and anything beyond management is quoted up front. Ad spend is billed by Meta directly.

Cost depends on the number of offers, the review cycles your compliance team needs, and whether we also run Google or LinkedIn. We will not promise assets under management, a set cost per lead, or a number of new clients. For search ads, see our Google Ads for financial advisors page. Our full social media advertising services are on the main page.

How Pricing Works
