A web page runs in a modern browser. An email runs in dozens of email clients, and each one renders code its own way. Classic Outlook for Windows uses Microsoft Word to display HTML. Gmail clips messages larger than about 102KB. Dark mode can invert your colors without asking.

An email designer plans for those limits from the first sketch. That means single-column layouts on mobile, live text instead of text baked into images, and buttons that work when images are blocked.

Good design also supports deliverability. Emails that are one large image with little text can look like spam to filters and are unreadable to screen readers.

We hand-code or build in your platform's editor, depending on how your team works. Hand-coded HTML email design uses table-based layouts and inline styles where clients need them. For editor-based platforms like Klaviyo, Mailchimp and HubSpot, we build drag-and-drop templates with locked brand styles.

Before launch we test each template in Litmus or Email on Acid across Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and Yahoo on desktop and mobile. We check dark mode, image blocking and link tracking. Then we send live tests to real inboxes.

Every template includes a footer with your postal address and an unsubscribe link, as CAN-SPAM requires for commercial email.

Price depends on the number of modules, custom illustration or animation, hand-coding versus editor builds, and how many rounds of review you need. Animated GIFs and interactive elements take more testing time.
