Automotive Leads for Dealerships

We generate automotive leads for franchise and independent dealerships through search, social and inventory ads run in your store's name. Each sales or service inquiry goes to your CRM with its source and vehicle of interest. Unlike third-party lead providers, we do not sell the same shopper to the dealer across town.

Key takeaways

  • Vehicle ads on Google and catalog ads on Meta are tied to your inventory feed, so shoppers see cars actually on your lot.
  • Payment and lease ads carry the disclosures required by the Truth in Lending Act and the Consumer Leasing Act.
  • Leads reach dealer CRMs such as VinSolutions or Elead in ADF/XML, tagged with the vehicle, the campaign and sales or service.

How Car Shoppers Move From Search to Showroom

Most car buyers do their research online before they contact anyone. They compare listings on dealer sites and marketplaces, read reviews, check trade-in values and work out a payment. By the time they reach out, they often have a short list of vehicles and stores.

They usually ask the same things. Is the car still in stock? What is the out-the-door price? What is my trade worth? Can I get approved? Ads and pages that answer these questions up front earn the inquiry.

Demand moves through the year. Tax refund season tends to lift used car shopping. Model-year changeovers, month-end and holiday sales events matter for new cars. Service demand follows the weather, recalls and the age of the cars you sold. Independent shops without a sales floor can see our auto repair lead generation page.

02

Inventory, Search and Social Campaigns for Dealers

Good lead generation for car dealerships ties ads to the cars actually on your lot.

  • Vehicle Ads on Google

Your inventory feed shows cars with photos, price and mileage in Google results, plus search campaigns by make, model and trim.

  • Inventory Ads on Meta

Catalog ads that show shoppers the vehicles they viewed or ones like them, with lead forms built in.

  • Service Department Campaigns

Search and social ads for oil changes, tires, brakes and recall work, aimed at owners within driving distance. Towing companies can see our towing lead generation page.

  • Conquest Campaigns

Ads aimed at shoppers searching for competing models, with a clear reason to compare yours.

  • Reviews and Listings

Google ratings and dealer review sites that shoppers check before choosing a store.

03

Advertising Rules Dealers Need to Follow

Vehicle ads that mention financing or leasing carry federal disclosure rules. Under the Truth in Lending Act, stating a monthly payment or down payment in a credit ad triggers more disclosures, including the APR. Lease ads fall under the Consumer Leasing Act, which has similar triggers. We build these disclosures into every payment ad.

Pricing must be honest. The FTC's CARS Rule was struck down by a federal appeals court in January 2025. The FTC and state attorneys general still act against bait pricing and hidden add-ons under existing law, and many states have their own dealer advertising rules.

Texts and calls need care too. Leads must consent before you send marketing texts or autodialed calls under the TCPA, so our forms record that consent with your dealership's name. If you use OEM co-op funds, we follow the brand's ad guidelines you share with us.

04

Getting Leads Into Your CRM and BDC

A lead that sits in an inbox is lost. We send every lead to your dealer CRM, such as VinSolutions, DealerSocket or Elead, using the ADF/XML format most of them accept. Each lead carries the vehicle, the campaign and whether it came from sales or service.

Your BDC or sales team then works the lead. If your team is stretched, automated email replies can confirm interest and offer test drive times. After-hours chat can answer stock and hours questions and collect contact details, as covered on our AI lead generation page. Shoppers can always ask for a person.

We match leads to sold units in your DMS where possible, so you see which campaigns sold cars.

05

Cost and Reporting for Auto Dealer Lead Generation

Management starts at $1,000 a month, and setup for feeds, tracking and CRM connections is quoted up front. Google and Meta ad spend is billed separately from management. Dealer groups are quoted by store count and brand mix.

Cost depends on your market, inventory size, how many brands you sell and whether we run service campaigns too. We report leads by source, appointments set, shows, sold units and service repair orders. We will not promise a lead count or a cost per lead, because shopper demand and your inventory change from month to month. For other channels, see our lead generation services. For organic search, see our automotive SEO services.
