Geofencing Marketing Services

Geofencing marketing serves ads to mobile devices that enter a virtual boundary drawn around a real place, such as a trade show hall, a competitor's lot, or a neighborhood. The ads can show while the person is there or for days afterward. We plan the fences, buy the media, and measure what happens next.

Key takeaways

  • A fence can target people inside a place right now, or devices seen there in a past window, such as last month's home show.
  • Fences around clinics, places of worship and shelters are off limits, and we check state rules before any campaign near a regulated site.
  • Conversion zones around your own locations count later visits as modeled estimates, compared with a control group where budget allows.
01

How Geofencing Ads Work

Many mobile apps collect location data from users who allow location sharing. Ad platforms use that data to build an audience of devices seen inside a fence you define. Your ads then show to those devices across apps and websites as display, native, or video ads. Some platforms can also extend the audience to connected TVs in the same household.

You can target people who are inside the fence now, or devices seen there in a past window. That lookback lets you reach people who attended last month's home show, for example.

Geofencing is different from radius targeting in Google Ads. Google targets people located in or interested in an area. A geofence targets devices actually seen at a specific place. Location data is not perfect, so we draw fences with some margin and skip places too small to measure.

02

Where Geofencing Tends to Work

It works best when a place tells you something about what a person needs.

  • Events and Trade Shows

Reach attendees during and after an event, when your booth or offer is still fresh.

  • Competitor Locations

Show your offer to people who visited a rival's store or dealership. For dealer search campaigns, see our automotive PPC page.

  • Your Own Locations

Follow up with past visitors who have not been back in a while.

  • Addresses on a List

Target households on a mailing or customer list by matching them to property boundaries.

  • Campuses and Venues

Reach students, fans, or members around colleges, stadiums, and arenas. Schools can also reach students and parents through education social media ads.

03

Privacy Rules We Follow

We only buy location audiences from vendors that state the data comes from users who consented to location sharing. We avoid fences around sensitive places, such as clinics, places of worship, and shelters.

Some states have gone further. Washington's My Health My Data Act restricts geofences around places that provide in-person health care. We check current state rules before any campaign near a regulated site. If a plan raises a privacy concern, we will tell you and suggest another approach.

04

Our Geofencing Marketing Services, From Fence to Report

Step 1: We agree on your goal and list the places that signal real interest. Step 2: We draw fences, set lookback windows, and estimate audience size for each one.

Step 3: We set up ads, frequency caps, and conversion zones, which are fences around your own locations used to count later visits. Step 4: We launch, review results weekly, and drop fences that produce reach but no response.

Geofenced audiences can also feed display and programmatic campaigns that run longer, or remarketing once people visit your site.

05

Geofencing Marketing Cost

Media is usually priced per 1,000 impressions. Total cost depends on the number and size of fences, how long the campaign runs, the lookback window, and the ad formats you use. Store visit tracking can add a data fee.

Our management fee starts at $1,000 a month, separate from media. Event campaigns can be scoped as a one-time flight with a fixed quote.

As a geofencing marketing agency, we will not promise a set number of store visits. Location data has gaps, and visit counts are modeled estimates. We will show you the method behind every number. See our PPC management services for how this fits with search and video.

How Pricing Works

Vynce Digital LLC is a registered US company, with our head office in Dubai and our delivery team in Srinagar. Here is how working with us is billed.

  • Plans from $1,000 a month

The fee depends on channels, accounts and workload. We confirm it in writing before anything starts.

  • Month to month

No long contract. You can stop with 7 days' written notice, and your website, data and content stay yours.

  • Ad spend is billed separately

We usually run campaigns from our ad accounts and bill ad spend separately from our fee. If you already have an account you prefer, we can run it there instead.

FAQ

Geofencing Advertising Questions, Answered

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Ask us anything else on the free audit call.

It depends on the platform and how many devices pass through. Very small fences may not collect enough devices to serve ads or measure results. We size each fence to the place and its expected traffic.

In general, yes. You cannot use a competitor's trademark in a misleading way, and state privacy laws still apply. We keep ads factual and check local rules first.

We set conversion zones around your locations. When a device that saw your ad is later seen inside a zone, it counts as a modeled visit. Some of those visits would have happened anyway, so we compare against a control group where budget allows.

Event campaigns may run for a few weeks around the date. Competitor and neighborhood campaigns usually need a few months to show a pattern. We review fences monthly and cut the ones that do not perform.

Social platforms offer their own location targeting, but not device-level fences built from third-party location data. Our geofenced audiences run across apps, websites, and streaming TV through programmatic platforms.
